The
Australian construction industry will receive a significant boost in 2013 with
the introduction of a new series of drum roller
onto the market. Leading Chinese manufacturer Liugong is bringing to Australia
the new CLG6118H, CLG6120H and CLG6142H compaction rollers, which have been
developed to the highest western standards, and are designed and built to work
in a variety of demanding environments.
The
three new models, with rated working weights between 16,800kg and 23,000kg, are
notable for the excellence of their engineering, and feature a combination of
leading international technologies: they are powered by Cummins QSB6.7-C190
diesel engines, include hydraulic pumps and valves from Sauer, and are fitted
with ZF axles. The operating width on all three models is 2100mm and there are
three different drum diameters available - 1500mm, 1600mm and 1700mm.
These
machines also feature a number of innovative design elements that represent
significant developments in the areas of operator comfort and ease of
maintenance.
They
have a low overall height, and the cab is designed so as to give an operator
360-degree vision, aided by front and rear wipers, defrosting glass and an
internal rearview mirror. It is fitted with ROPS and has low noise and
vibration insulation, and also includes air conditioning, a sunroof and a
rotary Grammer seat. The control assembly is well-located, as is the compaction
meter, making the machine comfortable to operate for extended periods of time.
Further, there is a unique double vibration reduction system, meaning these
rollers provide a quiet, smooth ride (and which also contributes to the
lifespan of components). Overall, the operator environment is designed very
much with both safety and well-being at the forefront.
