Chinese smartphone manufacturer Oppo may still be an unfamiliar name for most European, but that could be set to change soon.
The Oppo company launched two new premium handsets, including the world's slimmest smartphone, the R5, hoping to undercut Apple and Samsung. Oppo is the leading 4G smartphone manufacturer in China, with a market share of 15.2 per cent, although overall it trails other brands such as Chinese competitors Xiaomi and Lenovo, and South Korean manufacturer Samsung. Automatic camera rotation via either screen swipe, a touch panel at the rear or via the "o-click", a remote control included with the device, can capture panoramas horizontally or vertically.
Oppo's Finder, released in 2012, was also the world's thinnest high quality chinese phone at the time.
Both the N3 and R5 run on Oppo's Android-based operating system, Color OS, featuring a music player that looks like a vinyl turntable, and a "global gestures" drawing function, which instantly launches apps when an assigned shape is drawn on the screen.
Both handsets also include Oppo's Pure Image 2.0 technology - which can track moving targets, focus a photograph after it has been taken, and more - and can charge from zero battery power to 75 per cent in half an hour using Oppo's VOOC rapid charger.
Oppo international product director Joey Gan said the company was able to undercut competitors' costs by designing, developing and manufacturing the vast majority of its product components in-house.
It was also discussing the prospect of opening its own branded stores in Australia, as it has done in other countries including India and Indonesia. However Mr Tran confirmed Oppo was setting up an Australian services centre and looking to expand the team. Oppo Australia employs 16 people currently and supports global operations.
The Oppo brand first launched internationally in 2010 when it expanded into Thailand. It has continued to expand throughout south-east Asia, the Americas and the Middle East, and is now available in 17 markets.

China - Strong cheap consumer goods market
For those looking to sell and resell mobile phones, China remains one of the very best countries in which to procure bulk orders. China remains the nation that is making the most cell phone in the world and has produced volumes in the hundreds of millions. There is a tremendous demand for cell phone throughout the globe. China is certainly seeking to meet this demand.
In a market that is famous for replicating goods to be sold in massive quantities, and very often with scarce attention given to design, material quality, or production processes, the brand can function as a quality marker. In other words, given a small price difference for similar goods in the low-end market, the consumer will buy products from a more reputable brand because it is perceived to be of higher quality, partially because well-known translates mentally into "more people buy it, so it must be better"
Indeed, consumer purchasing is affected by strong brands as they are seen as a mark of product safety. Studies show that product-related factors such as price and brand name, in addition to store name, promotion channels, source credibility, country of origin, nature of product testing authority, and warranty, all significantly affect the final choice the consumer makes with regards to similar product offerings. Therefore, by carefully manipulating these variables when formulating brand strategy managers can attract the large and growing market of safety-conscious consumers and gain a significant competitive edge .
Remember, if you wan to protect your reputation as a seller, at the very least you will want to procure quality phones prior to offering them to customers. Other ways of making sure you maintain your reputation is offer fair prices and effective shipping. Try to handle any problems that may arise from the Chinese phones as soon as possible.
If you want to purchase high quality chinese phone from China, you will need to be familiar with how business operates within its domestic borders and how the phones are being received on the market. This will aid in ensuring your business remains on stable ground. And that would be a huge plus since stability often translates into solid profits!

Xiaomi, the world's third largest smartphone maker (behind Samsung and Apple), It belongs to high quality chinese phone. Announced in a Weibo post on Sunday that it sold 61 million smartphones in 2014, raking in more than 74 billion yuan in sales.
Late last year, Xiaomi expanded to India, Indonesia, Mexico, Russia, Thailand and Turkey, and it will be in additional countries later this year. The world's fastest-growing smartphone maker forecast that it will sell 100 million devices in 2015.
Last week, Xiaomi announced that it had raised $1.1 billion in funding from some of tech industry's most powerful players. That values the company at $45 billion -- bigger than LG, Motorola and Sony put together.
Xiaomi's growth and popularity have sparked comparisons to Apple. The company has also been accused of copying Apple's style -- an allegation Xiaomi has brushed aside by saying it strives for its products to be as high-quality as Apple's, but its Mi phones function very differently from the iPhone.
But Xiaomi acknowledged that the company faces some big challenges in 2015. Growth in the Chinese smartphone market is slowing, and Chinese rivals like Huawei and Lenovo are catching up. Expansion into western markets will bring an uncertain fate.
To overcome those obstacles, Xiaomi said it will continue to innovate. The company on Sunday unveiled a new Redmi phone, which sells for about $130. The new new flagship Mi phone will be unveiled on Jan 15, Xiaomi said. The high-end Mi lineup typically sells for around $300 and competes directly with the iPhone -- even though it sells for less than half the price.
Xiaomi's smartphone design has been praised by reviewers and customers alike. Its quality is very good and prices are very low, so it has been well received by people like it.
