Abstract Modern Art Oil Paintings

As an artist and painter creating visual impact though modern art and abstract in oil paint and mixed media paintings on canvas that I know! make any home come alive with color and energy.

Traditional wall art, modern or abstract painting not only fills a room with colour but tells a story. The unique story of the canvas itself is revealed but also about the artist who painted it and what drew you to the painting as well as how you found and acquired the painting. All original quality abstract paintings or modern artwork brings this story alive and develops its own value as a focal point in narrating this story making it distinctive, informed and intellectual, generating conversation and defining a scene of place within any gallery or modern home.

Art and especially Modern Art communicates Abstract ideas and concepts through contrast and contradictions that the modern world presents to us. Drawing on a number of artistic movements like Cubism, Abstract Expressionism, Modernism and Impressionism. I often find myself drawn to those emotional and expressive abstract paintings that fill a rooms with colour, energy and tranquillity. Preferring a limited palette of oil paints or earthy colours and simple clean lines to convey an image or abstract view point that challenges our perspectives on art and the modern world around us.

Creating useful links to my artwork, artist, modern art, Modern Oil Paintings, museums and art galleries develops our appreciation of art and its value to humanity as a whole.I believe that understanding Modern art and Abstract painting is a journey of constant discovery both into painting and ourselves as individuals.

Smartphones dual sim

If you weren’t aware what a dual SIM mobile phone is, don’t worry, you are not alone and we doubt you will be the last, a mobile phone that can take - and use - two SIM cards at once.

Using a mobile abroad can be a costly affair: calling, receiving calls; text messaging, receiving text messages - can all add up when you are roaming.

This is where the usefulness of a dual SIM device comes into play: it can house your regular SIM card, used by your existing mobile phone, and a local one, obtained wherever you are holidaying. That will allow you to still receive calls and text messages, only you can use the Internet, without paying a small fortune – through the second, local SIM.

The local tariffs are far cheaper than the roaming costs you would normally pay, with the added benefit of being contactable wherever you are. Most phones of this ilk can intelligently disable Internet access on one card and only use the other one, along with making calls from one and not the other. They can have a similar feature set to your existing device, if not identical (in some cases) and would be a welcome addition to your holiday suitcase.

It runs Android Jelly Bean and has a user interface familiar to anyone that has used Samsung mobile phone, where it sports a larger 5-inch screen – ideal for web use, movie playback or reading that holiday book on the beach.

Our best-selling dual SIM capable phone is the Acer Liquid Gallant Duo, priced at just £139.99. It too runs a familiar version of Android, in Ice Cream Sandwich, and has a more compact 4.3-inch display, allowing it to be slipped into any pocket.

A Smartphones dual sim could be ideal as a family mobile phone for the holidays, or one that could be shared with family or friends whenever they individually travel – the possibilities are endless, with the cost savings speaking for themselves.

Benefits of using walnut oil painting

I recalled that walnut oil was considered a good medium because it yellows less with time. It also says walnut oil "removes color from artists' tools as effectively as odorless paint thinners" and also does not "remove essential oils from artists' brushes".

Mark Gottsegen's Painter's Handbook1 says walnut oil is non-yellowing and dries a little faster than safflower and poppyseed oils. It warns that "like many nut oils" walnut oil doesn't store well and will go rancid unless refrigerated.

Pip Seymour's Artist's Handbook2 says walnut oil was used a lot in the past and, because of its very pale color and brilliant gloss, preferred over linseed oil. It says walnut oil "remains glassy, glossy, and hard-wearing over time, lending colors excellent saturation and depth" and "dries a little faster than poppy oil (3-4 days). It also warns that "freshly cold-pressed walnut oil can quickly turn rancid upon exposure to air".

I imagine how well it keeps will depend very much on how warm a climate you live in, whether it's in direct sun or not, how well the container is sealed, and how refined it is during manufacture. You'll soon notice if it's not lasting well. In fact all oils used for oil painting, start turning rancid when exposed to air; it's part of the natural drying process. It's just that the little you've mixed with your paint generally dries before you smell it or you use up the oil before it's a problem.

When it comes to using walnut cooking oil for Cheap Oil Paintings, a temptation because it's often cheaper, remember that cooking oils often have additive in them which may hamper drying. For instance Vitamin E or other antioxidants are used to increase the shelf life, but do this by retarding oxidation and thus the drying of any paint you've mixed with it.

which are the best 4G and 3G phones ?

The phone is a small but functional Android phone with a dual-core 1.5GHz processor. When inserted into the tablet it becomes a bog-standard, functional Android tablet. To answer calls in this mode you use a ballpoint pen-shaped stylus which doubles as a Bluetooth handset.

The HTC One S is a lovely, smaller 3g smart phones with a 4.3-inch screen and a 1.7GHz dual-core processor. The latter meant it sped along happily through just about every task and almost rivalled the One X for camera performance - though it's not quite as quick. The metal chassis makes it one of the classiest phones on offer and the HTC Sense tweaks are all worth having.

HTC's Desire X came out of nowhere and appears to exist to keep the Desire brand name alive. The 4-inch screen is crisp and clear, although the 5-megapixel camera was consistently not sharp and struggled in low light. It looks very classy with its white chassis with metal trim and handles well. The battery easily lasted all day. A big boon was that holding the Page Flip button down acted as a Menu button - we hope to see this feature on other HTC phones.

HTC's One V is the budget model and echoes the design of the legendary HTC Legend. Its solid metal chassis belies its low price although the single-core 1GHz processor felt pedestrian by modern standards and the 5-megapixel camera is noticeably inferior to other HTCs. You also need a microSD card to make the limited memory useable. The 3.7-inch screen is bright and functional but the small size and keyboard mean it's suited to those with small hands.

Last week's Windows Phone 8 launch showed off three snazzy handsets from HTC, Samsung and Nokia. Because WP8 phones all use the same systems, there's very little difference in terms of functionality. The Lumia 920 comes in some funky colours, offers 4G, a great 1280 x 760 4.5-inch screen and an optical-image-stabilized 8-megapixel camera. It also offers, wire-free charging as an option. It looks great but will be pricey at over $800.

You could wait forever to buy your next phone - there are always newer and better models on the horizon. Right now, if you want the latest 4G model and don't want to be regretting your decision in the next two months, then frankly your only choice is the iPhone. All of the 4G Android models excel in some areas but fall down in others.
